The story of 3DayEscapes (3DE) began in 1988 as part of Swept Away Marketing Incentives, built on a simple idea: create meaningful travel experiences while providing businesses and organizations with powerful, cost-effective incentive solutions.

In 1990, we expanded internationally into Acapulco and Cancun, Mexico, and became Swept Away Marketing International. As our reach continued to grow, licensed travel agency offices were established in the U.S. Virgin Islands, serving cruise passengers while providing innovative travel incentive programs to businesses and individuals throughout the Caribbean, the United States, and Canada.

By 1996, our continued growth and expanding range of services led to the evolution of the company into Special Advantage Marketing. Our programs grew beyond traditional travel incentives to include a broader portfolio of travel experiences, promotional programs, marketing tools, and incentive products designed to help businesses and organizations attract customers, reward loyalty, generate leads, and increase engagement.
Adapting to a Changing Travel Industry
During the COVID-19 pandemic and throughout 2021, as travel came to a near standstill and consumers remained at or closer to home, our travel incentive operations were temporarily paused.
When leisure travel began returning in 2022, the hotel industry faced a dramatically different environment. Large numbers of hotel rooms across the country were being utilized through government-supported shelter programs, significantly reducing the availability of the wholesale accommodations that had traditionally supported pre-pandemic travel incentive programs.
As hotel availability gradually returned, 3DayEscapes reestablished its flagship vacation incentive program, initially offering 12 popular destinations with hotel accommodations available at 50% off the lowest published non-promotional Internet rate.
